An original interpretative model combining sterling silver with the refractory metal niobium.
The majestic stance freezes a moment of nature, showing the bird's innate alertness yet regal poise. Some thirty individual feathers are located in the back of the bird, and flow beautifully to the ground; each eyelet is an engraved plate of niobium, a refractory metal anodised to create the iridescence of this bird. The beak and feet are lavishly gilt with 24K gold.
The overall impression is one of dignity and charm, and close inspection reveals individually chased feathers flowing from beak to tail tip, emulating the beauty of its inspiration. This timeless work recalls the peacock's traditional role as a symbol of beauty and immortality.
